PPM have said that there is no way former President Nasheed can contest in 2018 elections.
Speaking at press conference held at the head office of PPM today, the deputy leader of PPM Abduh Raheem Abdullah said that Maldives is not talking with any foreign government about the possibility of Nasheed contesting in the 2018 presidential elections.
“If the government is doing anything of the sort, the chief advisor of the party will inform the party about it. No such information has been given and it means no such thing is going on” said Abduh Raheem.
Speaking at the press, PPM PG Leader Ahmed Nihaan said that previously the opposition used names of European countries to make similar claims but now they are using the name of US instead. Dr.Khaleel the SG of PPM said that the opposition is spreading such rumors because they want to suppress the talks of the Kulhudhuhfushi Airport development project.
Everyone who spoke at the press said that PPM is against allowing former President Nasheed competing in the 2018 elections.
