Officials of UAE have said that they are ready to strengthen economic ties with Maldives in all areas.
Speaking at a dinner hosted by the Economic Minister of Dubai Sultan bin Saeed Al-Mansoory, for Maldivian Economic Minister Mohammed Saeed, the economic minister of Dubai said that the investments and business relations of the two countries have increased even in the past 1 year. He said that the trade between the countries has increased to 475 million dollars from 422 million dollars.
Sultan said that there are various areas that can be developed by working together. “It is important to strengthen the relations in terms of aviation, tourism, and investments” said Sultan.
In addition, he said that more development can be achieved through export and re-exporting of goods. He said that he hoped that Maldives will get more investments through the investment forum scheduled on 18th December.
Furthermore, he said that UAE will assist in developing SMEs and tourism industry of Maldives. Economic Minister Saeed said that Dubai is the closest partner of Maldives in the Middle East in terms of business and investments. He said that Maldives is making significant achievements economically.
The minister gave information about the economic policy and opportunities in Maldives. The dinner was attended by senior officials of UAE.
