Dhiraagu have stated that this year’s Dhiraagu Road Race will be different from previous years.
According to Dhiraagu, this year the participants will get their medals as soon as they complete the race.
“Our officials will be ready with the medals near the finishing line. We made this decision because a lot of time was spent on distributing the medals last year. This way it will save time” said an official.
In addition, Dhiraagu introduced a mobile app which will allow to collect data from the participants via a chip on their shoes. Profiles of each athlete will be on the app and important information will be available on the app. The app will have features like real time tracking, speed and distance of each participant.
This app is popular in international races as well. In addition, as soon as each participant finishes the race, cameras at the finishing line will capture the athlete’s image and display it on the app. Furthermore, the application will have weather information, route of the race and tips for the athletes.
