3000 people have taken part in Dhiraagu Road Race which was held at Hulhumale’ yesterday.
The race is an annual event conducted by Dhiraagu with the aim of promoting child rights. NGOs working in this sector also took part in yesterday’s race. Some of the NGOs include Arc, Down syndrome association, cancer society of Maldives, Child Abuse Prevention society, Maldives Association of Physical Disabilities, Tiny Hearts and SHE.
Dhiraagu donated 200,000 Rufiyaa to 5 NGOs chosen by most number of athletes. The run is also accredited internationally and Dhiraagu has been conducting the race since 2007. The race has 5km and 10km events.
