Fathimath Fauza Faheem becomes the best all round student of MECC

Fathimath Fauza Faheem has become the best all round student of Maldives Educational and Cultural Center in Sri Lanka.

MECC conducts Islam, Dhivehi and Quran class for Maldivians living in Sri Lanka. Fauza finished grade 10 this year and her award was given to her by Education Minister Dr.Aishath Shiham last night in a ceremony held to mark the end of the academic year.

In addition, 11 students who completed the SSC examinations from MECC were given certificates during the ceremony. Speaking at the ceremony, Education Minister Dr.Aishath Shiham said that the government focuses a lot on reviving nationality and Islam among Maldivians living abroad. The minister thanked former Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Zahiya Zareer and current Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Shareef for the work they have done to develop MECC. She also thanked President Yameen for developing MECC in Sri Lanka.

In last night’s ceremony, Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Shareef launched the logo and the official uniform of MECC.
