Foreign Minister of Maldives Dr.Mohammed Asim have said that Maldives believes that the international community should work to ensure peace and security in the Korean peninsula.
Speaking at the ceremony held to mark the 50th year since Maldives and South Korea established diplomatic relations, the minister talked about the importance of stability in the Korean peninsula.
He made this statement during a time when the whole region is going through a time of uncertainty since North Korea started increasing nuclear tests and military maneuvers.
Meanwhile, regional powers like China has expressed concerns due to the increase of US military presence in South Korea.
