President’s Office has revealed that President Yameen and the First Lady will be visiting China on a state visit from 6th to 9th of this month.
Speaking to the press, Spokesperson of the President, Ibrahim Muaz said that the president will hold discussions with Chinese President on strengthening bilateral relations and important agreements will be signed.
Muaz said that this visit will take the China-Maldives relations to a new stage and he noted that this is the 45th year since Maldives established diplomatic relations with China.
In addition, he said that the president visited China twice since assuming office, once in 2014 and once in 2015 both of which are official visit. However this will be the first state visit of President Yameen to China.
