Despite the increase in political instability, SAARC countries are developing: President Yameen
President Yameen have stated even with the increase in political instability in the SAARC countries, the member countries are developing.

He made this statement regarding the 33rd SAARC Charter Day. President’s statement says that disputes should not hinder the work done to attain regional goals. He further noted that this region is one of the most populous region in the world with a diverse culture.

President noted that providing quality education is important to eradicate poverty and for sustainable development. In addition, he highlighted the importance of inclusive education using modern technology to achieve the sustainable development goals.

President further highlighted that SAARC countries also face the dangers of climate change, terrorism and natural disasters and stated that all the countries should help each other to mitigate the effects.

President ensured that Maldives will cooperate with member countries to further strengthen the relations between the member countries and noted that Maldives will always cooperate to ensure peace and stability in the region.
