Dhiraagu has signed an agreement with Youth Ministry to become the title sponsor of the 8th Dhivehi Film Awards.
In a ceremony held at Youth Ministry, Youth Minister Iruthisham Adam signed the agreement on behalf of the ministry while the acting CEO of Dhiraagu Ali Riyaz signed on behalf of Dhiraagu.
Speaking at the ceremony, Youth Minister said that it was a huge development to the Maldivian film industry that a prominent company like Dhiraagu is sponsoring the event. Speaking at the ceremony Ali Riyaz said that Dhiraagu gives a lot of importance to the arts field especially to musicians and singers.
Short 7 films and 17 feature films were nominated for this year’s film awards. According to NCA, they have finished judging the movies and the awarding ceremony will be held on 19th December.
