Former Home Minister Umar Naseer have said that he joined JP to elevate JP to the level of “King” from “King Maker”.
Speaking at the ceremony held at M.Kunooz today to officially join JP, Umar said that JP is the most successful party in the Maldives. He said that JP has won many elections.
“JP came second in both presidential elections. All parties won the election with the help of JP. Hence JP is king maker. We need to change to King. JP can get that opportunity in 2018 elections. The people want to give that opportunity to JP” said Umar.
He said that the people have experienced the rule of other parties and now they want to experience a JP administration.
In addition he said that the opposition should not wait for a formula to select an opposition candidate. He said that, that formula is the formula used to pass the constitution. He said that each day that the opposition fails to appoint a candidate is a success for the rivals.
“I am joining JP to take part in the work that is being done to make JP the number one party” said Umar.
He said that JP had bad experiences after helping to making kings and that there is not point in experiencing it for the second time.
Umar talked about the services of Qasim Ibrahim the leader of JP leader. He said that the people desire to see an administration under Qasim Ibrahim.
