The pouch plant in Felivaru has been put in to operations.
The chairman of MIFCO, Ahmed Shaheer said that in addition to the pouch plant, the government has increased the canning capacity by 30 percent.
Shaheer said that they have also repaired the ice plants and that they are in service. He said that they have also arranged an easy mechanism to pay the fishermen.
Even STO has benefitted after MIFCO was made a subsidiary of STO. They are now able to obtain dollars that are needed for the company through MIFCO.
