Managing Director of STO, Ahmed Shaheer have said that if the state owned companies focus on making huge profits then it will have a negative impact on the people.
He said that the country will develop when the people are prosperous and the government wants to make the people prosperous.
“STO is also working for that aim. That was the policy announced by President Yameen during the 50th anniversary of STO. We are trying to implement this policy” said Shaheer.
Shaheer said that STO had to make a huge profit in the first year because the company was in huge debts that year. He said that once STO paid off the debts, they reduced the profit margin. “ We are passing our profits directly to the people” said Shaheer.
Shaheer said that the people will benefit when STO provides services and goods at low profit margin.
