Fisheries Minister Dr.Shainee have stated that starting from next week those interested in installing ice plants on fishing vessels can apply for loans.
Speaking at the ceremony held at Ha.Ihavandhoo to mark this year’s fishermen’s day, the minister said that one of the biggest challenge for the fishermen is getting access to ice and hence the fishermen can apply for loans to install ice plants on the vessel.
“We have a sustainable fishing industry. Maldives is leading 18 regional countries in fishing” said the minister.
