Foreign Minister Dr.Mohammed Asim have said that a country’s usefulness in the international community does not depend on the country’s size.
He said that the country’s usefulness depends on what the country can do solve international problems. He said that, after Maldives attained independence, the first decision of foreign policy for Maldives was to pursue UN membership. Minister said that this was done so that Maldives can take part in solving international problems.
Foreign Minister Asim said that, UN is a platform where small and big countries can propose their ideas and try to find solutions to the global problems.
