President Yameen have said that the government is working towards specific goals and that Maldives wants development, but do not want it in a way that will make the government go astray.
Speaking at a ceremony held to launch the sewage systems development project of N.Henbadhoo, which is financed by Champa Brothers, the president said that private financing for such projects reduces the burden on the state budget.
President said that Champa Brothers are contributing a lot to the development of Maldives. President Yameen said that the people of Maldives want development and not democracy. He said that democracy is less important compared to development.
He said that the people want access to essential services and they want prosperity. He said that the government is working to make sure that these needs are met.
