President Yameen have said the airport being developed at N.Maafaru is an expensive gift by the government of UAE to Maldivians.
Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the sewage systems development project of N.Henbadhoo the president said that the relations between UAE and Maldives have strengthened in the last year. President said that, a high-quality city hotel will also be developed with the airport. He said that N.Maafaru Airport will be the first international airport in the region. He said that N.Atoll will be a regional hub.
President said that he hopes that flights will land at the airport on the next Independence Day.
