President Yameen have said that oppression and violating the rights of others is the law of the jungle and that civilized societies will not accept it. Speaking to the people of B.Thulhaadhoo the president talked about the merciless killings in the Maldives and other violent acts.
President said that if it is the people who are in power that are calling for instability and violent acts, then the whole country will be in chaos. “People will not respect the rights of others or consider the property of others as sacred. People will also not believe that others have equal rights as well” said the president.
President asked whether if this is how Maldivians should live. “That is how animals live in the zoo. That is now how humans live in civilized societies” said the President.
President said that Allah has sent several messengers and prophets to teach us civilized ways and hence we cannot go back to the ways of animals. He advised Maldivians to be a society which loves development, stability and peace.
