Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer have said that 2017 was a successful year for the tourism industry and that the government & the tourism sector will spend 100 million dollars to make 2018 even more successful.
He said that 2018 will be more successful after the opening of the second runway at Velana Airport.
He said that 2017 was very successful for Maldives and that the number of tourist arrivals increased and the investments also increased.
Various resorts are being developed in the Maldives at the moment and it is expected that 30 new resorts will be opened within these next two years.
Last year was a successful year in tourism - next year will be more successful and 100 million dollars will be spent :Zameer
