ITFC have stated that they want to help Maldives with overcoming fuel shortage.
Speaking to the foreign media after arranging a 100 million dollar loan facility to STO, officials from ITFC stated that Maldives is a special customer of ITFC and that they want to save Maldives from the effects of unpredictable changes to the world oil market.
Since 2008 ITFC have provided Maldives with loans worth 145 million dollars.
STO is taking special measures to ensure fuel security of Maldives. Fuel is relatively cheap in Maldives compared to other south Asian countries.
