MP Saud Hussein of Villingili constituency has called for international help to free the parliament.
He said that the security forces have hijacked the parliament and there is no way to file a case to the parliament. He said that even the MPs who go to the parliament to meet staffs of the secretariat of the parliament are being obstructed.
This is the third consecutive day where parliament members tried to enter the parliament to meet with the deputy secretary general of the parliament. Even today they were prevented from entering the parliament by security forces.
Saud says that it was unacceptable at all because the security services uses unnecessary force while removing the parliament members from the premises of the parliament. In addition he said that what is going on in Maldives right now is unlawful and it is the parliament which can provide a solution to these issues and that is why the MPs are going to the parliament every day.
When members tried to enter parliament today, the police arrested a RaajjeTV journalist in that area.
