Housing Miniter Dr.Mohammed Muizzu visited Maafushi jail and met with President Maumoon as an envoy of President Yameen.
Hussein Shameem a member of President Maumoon’s legal team said that Maumoon responded to him saying that he did not go there to check on him but to show off.
Shameem said that Maumoon shared what he told Muizzu. He said that Maumoon does not believe that Muizzu went to the jail to check on Maumoon.
He also said that Maumoon told Muizzu that he is being detained unlawfully and that the state of emergency was announced to arrest him as well.
