President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to the President of the United States of America, His Excellency Donald J. Trump, following the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the attacks in Parkland, Florida, causing the tragic loss of life and injury to many, including young children.”
“The Maldives strongly condemns such cowardly acts of terror and all acts of violence perpetuated against innocent people, causing absolute misery, instilling fear and distress.”
“The Government and the people of the Maldives join me in conveying our deepest sympathies to the Government and people of the United States during this challenging time. Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
