Former President Nasheed has briefed Indian Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on the situation in the Maldives.
Nasheed tweeted a picture of his meeting with Indian Defense Minister. He did not reveal any details of the meeting. He met her during a time the opposition has been asking for international help to resolve the political crisis in Maldives. The opposition has been asking India to send an envoy to Maldives.
The government has invited the opposition for dialogue. However they say that they want to hold discussion with UN as a mediator. UN has accepted the proposal made by the opposition to become a mediator in the discussion.
