The Supreme Court order prevents the 12 MPs from taking part in the first session of the parliament for this year – all MPs can take part in tomorrow’s extraordinary session – Ibu
Ibrahim Mohammed Solih the PG leader of MDP have said that the Supreme Court order which was issued tonight regarding the 12 MPs prevents the MPs from entering the first session of the parliament and that MPs can take part in the extraordinary session that is going to be held tomorrow.

In a press conference held by the opposition tonight at Kunooz, he said that tonight’s verdict also did not say that those members lost their seat and hence the plans of the opposition will go on as planned and the MPs will go to the parliament tomorrow.

Speaking at the press, the deputy leader of AP Ali Zahir said that the problem occurred because the government did not take the necessary actions regarding floor crossing and hence a temporary order was issued. “ Tonight’s verdict does not prevent any MP from entering the parliament and hence they should not be stopped. Everyone will know this when they read the verdict. MNDF should also be aware of this” said Ali Zahir.

Ali Zahir also said that there is chance that an MP might lose their seat in the parliament if the MP crosses the floor. In tonight’s press the opposition called the government to allow the MPs in jail to attend the parliament session.
