Prominent Lawyer Shaaheen Hameed have called the lawyers in Maldives to show support for an independent judiciary. Shaaheen Hameed is also the nephew of President Yameen.
Shaheen tweeted saying that the justices of the Supreme Court have been taken hostage and the judiciary is under military control. He said that thus the judiciary cannot be independent.
He said that hence he is ready to work to free the judiciary of Maldives and he needs the help of other lawyers in Maldives.
