MP Ameeth have called the senior figures of police not to politicize the insitution.
Speaking at a press conference held by the opposition today, Ameeth called the senior figures not to politicize the institution and to reveal credible evidence related to the people who are detained for investigations.
Ameeth said that it is a huge issue to claim that they found 38 million Rufiyaa from a house related to Ali Hameed only to say that they said this by a mistake. He also said that not revealing the details of this house and the relation of this house to Ali Hameed is also a problem.
Ameeth said that even though the police said that former President has been trying to overthrow the government since 2015, President Maumoon has not done anything of that sort before and said that no evidence can be shown to prove it.
“these statements are similar to statements made by political parties. I call the police not to make such statements” said Ameeth.
