EC to release budget of all political parties except MDP

Elections Commission has decided to release budget of all political parties except opposition MDP.
According to the political parties act of Maldives, all parties with more than 10,000 Rufiyaa should be given their budget within the first three months of the year.
At the moment there are 6 political parties registered in the Maldives and 4 parties have more than 10,000 members. The budget will be released for parties which submitted the audit report and the yearly report. The four parties eligible for the budget are PPM, MDP, MDA and JP.
According to EC, all parties except MDP have submitted the yearly report and the audit report. A total of 24.24 million Rufiyaa have been allocated for these parties.
