Four years ago, while speaking at a parliament session JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim warned that the things in the country might go to an extent where there will be no one to speak about the situation of the country. What he said might not have been taken seriously by many that day, but today we see that it is the truth.

The biggest worry of everyone is that all institutions that should keep the government in check have failed. That day Qasim Ibrahim said that it might happen.

“The constitution stresses a lot on to empower the independent state institutions. I want to ask the Finance Minister and the government, how these institutions can function if you limit their budget” said Qasim.

“Then the situation of the country will be out of control. Corruption will be at the highest level. There will be no institution which will speak about the situation of the country. The only thing that matters might be the policies of the government” said Qasim.

Everything Qasim said that day has become true today. Everyone believes that these are the major problems faced by the country today. Qasim said that when there is no one to speak about the sufferings of the people in the country, then the country will be experiencing a democratic backslide. He said that everyone should think about this.

Qasim made these statements while speaking about the budget of 2015.
