Abdullah Mohammed from Kuwait has won the first place in Noorul Mubeen Quran competition, an international Quran competition organized by the Maldives.

The second place was won by Hameed, a participant from Turkey and the third place was won by Ashraf Nazim a Maldivian.

This competition is an initiative of President Yameeen and the award for the winner was given by President Yameen. Next year’s competition will also include women and it will be better than this year according to the organizers.

Participants from 9 countries took part in this year’s competition. Prominent religious scholar Mufti Menk gave a lecture at the ceremony held tonight to announce the results of the competition.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mufti Menk praised the competition and spoke about the importance of reciting Quran. He said that Quran should be promoted and such competitions will do that.
