President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of condolence to the President of Cuba His Excellency Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, following the plane crash in Havana.
The President’s message reads as follows:
"I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn about the crash of a Boeing 737 airliner in Havana, claiming the lives of over a hundred passengers onboard and critically injuring others."
"At this time of distress, the Government and the people of the Maldives join me in thoughts and prayers for the grieving families of the perished victims."
"Please also convey our heartfelt sympathies to those injured in this tragedy and wish them a speedy recovery."
