Criminal Court has decided that former President Maumoon cannot be changed to house arrest. He is currently in jail and is being charged with terrorism.

Justice Hailam of Criminal Court made the decision in yesterday’s hearing on the terrorism charges against Maumoon. Hailam said that the defense lawyers could not show a reason why Maumoon should be changed to house arrest.

Maumoon’s family has been requesting the court and other relevant authorities to change Maumoon to house arrest after considering his ill health.
