Team Malahini wins the ninth season of Ooredoo Masrace, following an intense competition with fellow finalists at the fun filled grand finale of the competition. The champion team received a Fishing Vessel worth MVR 175,000 and a 60 HP Evinrude Engine, worth MVR 150,000.

Six teams made it to the grand finale of Ooredoo Masrace 2018, including Team Malahini, Team Milaidhoo, Team Taj Exotica, Team HDC, Team STELCO and Team Enzi. The 1st Runner-up was Team Milaidhoo while Team Enzi took home the third prize.

We had a lot of fun with the large number of participants from across the Maldives, and look forward to welcoming them back next year. Team Malahini also received MVR 10,000, which was given to the most “Thafaathu Team” of the competition for the incredible team spirit and passion shown throughout the tournament.

Abdul Haadhy Mohamed from Team Milaidhoo won the “Thafaathu Maakeyolhu” award for reeling in the heaviest fish of the tournament, a 11.05 kg Faana during the semi-final stage. Nashama Mohamed from Team Malahini took home the award for the “Emme Thafaathu Anhen Keyolhu”, by reeling in a 10.5 Kg Handhi during the tournament. Both winners received MVR 5000.00 for their efforts.

Ooredoo looks forward to welcoming even more teams for the next Ooredoo Masrace, will be again be opened up to teams across the Maldives in 2019.
