JP leader Qasim Ibrahim have said that the party wants to endorse a single candidate for the upcoming presidential election and that he will do whatever it takes to do that.
He made this statement via Facebook Live today. Qasim said that even though he has been sentenced to jail, he is still the MP for Maamigili constituency. He said that because of how the EC is acting he can no longer remain as the leader of the party though he was elected by the people.
Qasim said that even though he is forced to leave the leadership of JP, he will remain serving the nation.
“The people voted for the left in 2008 because I asked. In 2013, they voted for the right when I asked. So this time why don’t you vote for the center” said Qasim. Qasim requested the people to vote for JP this time.
