Government has stated that the government will work to prevent the European Union from imposing sanctions on Maldives.

The Foreign Affairs Council of EU has scheduled the item regarding introducing restricted measures on Maldives in tomorrow’s meeting. According to some sources EU will impose targeted sanctions on some government officials.

The government is talking with representatives of various European countries to prevent EU from taking action against government officials.
