China-Maldives Friendship bridge to be opened tomorrow night !

Housing Minister Dr.Muizzu have said that the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge will be opened to the public tomorrow night. However, the bridge will be opened for vehicles on 7th September.

In a press conference held today, the minister said that a company which holds world record in fireworks, will display fireworks tomorrow night. In addition, Minister Muizzu said that, the bridge wont be damaged due to vibrations from the fireworks. He made that statement after some people on social media said that the bridge might be damaged due to “vibrations” from the fireworks.

Even though the bridge will be opened tomorrow night, vehicles can start using the bridge starting from 7th September. The minister said that public buses will be available to travel to Hulhule’ and Hulhumale’.

In addition he said that, there will be many events to celebrate the opening of the bridge, and one of the most colorful event will be the wedding ceremonies that will begin on 31st August.
