Mariya Didi have said that the validity of the ballot papers should be ensured before voting and not after that.
Mariya said that since the ballot paper is issued by the officials of EC, they should ensure that it is valid beforehand and that is the practice in all the countries.
“Votes are casted in front of the officials. So no country in the world tests the validity of the paper via a machine after the vote. The EC cannot trust themselves” said Mariya.
Mariya said that since people can enter the voting booth after leaving personal belongings outside, it is unbelievable that someone can use their own paper. She said that hence, the only thing that needs to be done after voting is counting the votes.
