Ruling party PPM has stated that they will not runaway and will remain as a responsible opposition party.

Speaking at a press conference held by the party this afternoon, the deputy leader of PPM, Abduh Raheem said that the opposition continuously accused PPM of planning to rig the election but this has been the most free and fair election held in the Maldives. He said that he is proud to represent the government which held this election.

In addition he said that even though President Yameen has brought unprecedented level of development, based on the results of the election they are forced to concede. He said that they will be active as an opposition party.

“We will do whatever we have to do as an opposition party and will not flee” said Abduh Raheem.
