MP Ali Azim have said that the first task of the joint opposition parliamentary group will be to remove parliament speaker Abdullah Maseeh from his position.
Ali Azim said that they want to remove Maseeh not because he belongs to a specific party or because he is with President Yameen. Ali Azim said that they want to remove Maseeh because he has conducted many unlawful activities as speaker of the parliament.
In addition Azim said that rights of many people were violated because of Maseeh and that he facilitated to create many laws unlawfully. He said that hence such a person should be removed from his position immediately.
Ali Azim noted various other problems they have with Maseeh including preventing parliament members from entering the parliament by using military to throw them out of the parliament.
