Defense Minister Adam Shareef Umar have said that the Maldivian National Defence Force will not be politicized.
He said that he did not witness any political activities within MNDF even before the elections and even now. He said this in a post made on his Facebook page.
Meanwhile a rumor has been circulating on social media saying that there were some pamphlets distributed within MNDF HQ, warning top brass of MNDF not to undermine the election results.
The minister stated that the MNDF has a constitutional responsibility and that they should stay away from political activities.
