Minister of Education, Dr. Aishasth Shiham has said that it will take five years for the government to regulate all preschools.

Dr. Shiham made this remark in response to the question asked by Thoddoo constituency MP Ibrahim Hassan in yesterday’s sitting of the Peoples’ Majlis.

Dr. Shiham said that the government regulating all preschools within five years is included in the manifesto of the current government. She said that the government will implement this policy and all preschools will be regulated by the government.

MDA leader Ahmed Shiyam had been advocating for this policy in the Peoples’ Majlis for a number of times. He has reiterated calls to immediately put the preschools under the government similar to other schools.

Jumhooree Party leader Gasim Ibrahim said that the government will regulate all preschools within two years of his government.
