Dhangethi constituency MP, Ilham Ahmed has said that no institution can be given the role of the courts of law.
Speaking at the Peoples’ Majlis, Ilham noted that many institutions have been fining people however it is against the law to punish or cause damage to a person without a court verdict.
He said that house arrest, suspension are penalties that cause a lot of loss to the person and therefore such actions should be taken through the judiciary.
Ilham said that if amendments are to be made to an existing law then it should be perfect and should be fool proof then the existing law.
He said that no law or no amendments to any law should be passed in a way which can violate the rights of any person whatsoever because of that law or that amendment.
Ilham said that the jurisdiction and authority of the courts of law are clarified in the constitution and therefore their authority should not be granted to any institution outside the judiciary.
