A special prayer and slaughtering of goats have been held last night to mark the golden jubilee of the independence of Maldives.

The slaughtering and sacrificing of goats were held after Isha prayer at Maafannu stadium. It was organized by the government and some organizations.

Isha prayer was led by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed. The supplication was made by Qari Ahmed Rasheed.

President Abdulla Yameen and several Cabinet Ministers also took part in the prayer.
