Indian Tourism Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma has visited the India Maldives Friendship Faculty of Hospitality Management and had enquired on how the faculty can be improved.

He visited the faculty yesterday afternoon.

Dr. Sharma had checked on the standard of courses, information on the student body, teachers and future activities of the faculty.

In the meeting, Dr. Hassan Hameed stated that the faculty was vital in providing trained individuals for the sector on which the entire nation was dependent on. He recognized India for providing such an invaluable asset. He noted that the courses provided in the faculty was recognized in the region.

In addition to Dr. Sharma, his wife Dr. Uma Sharma, Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives Rajiv Shahare and senior officials of the High Commission visited the faculty.

They were welcomed to the faculty by the Maldives National University’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Hassan Hameed and senior officials of the faculty.
