Fisheries and Agriculture Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee has said that this was the 21st century, and as such there can be no issue that cannot be unresolvable, especially with discussions.
Speaking after the first round of talks, Dr. Shainee, the senior government representative at the all-party talks, said that discussions can and will be held on the issue of freeing the leaders of AP and MDP. He urged representatives of the two parties to attend so that discussions can start on the topic.
He added that all parties will have core proposals and that the same applied for the Government.
“Final decisions will be made on the broad consensus of all parties, if we all can agree to freeing the leaders, then we can discuss on that as well,” he said.
Dr. Shainee added that the Government had called for observers to attend the talks, on the insistence of the opposition.
The four parties that attended the talks, stressed on the importance of having MDP and AP in the discussions.
