Two mosques funded by Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Azeez, has been opened yesterday in two separate ceremonies.

The two mosques opened yesterday are Masjid Ah-Noor in R.Angolhitheemu, and Masjid Ah-Thaavun in R.Innamaadhoo. Both mosques were opened by the Deputy Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives Matrek Aldosari.

Ambassador His Excellency Eng. Bader Ali Alkahail and Deputy Ambassador Mr. Matrek thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman nin Abdul Azeez Al-Saud , the crown prince and the deputy crown prince for their interest in all matters supporting the issues of Muslims all over the world especially to the Republic of Maldives.

Several mosques are being built all over the Maldives, with generous aid from King Salmaan and Saudi Government. Construction work of some mosques have completed while several others are under construction.

In an effort to build modern mosques in the Maldives, in 2014 King Salman decided to build 10 mosques as his own gift to Maldives,a and finanaced the first phase of the program to build them shortly during the same year

The Saudi Ambassador to Maldives, H.E Badr al Kahail and Saudi Embassy in Maldives have been going over these projects to ensure that these are delivered perfectly. King Salman gives a lot of attention to strengthen the relation between Maldives and Saudi Arabia.

The opening ceremony of the mosques were attended by Islamic Minister Dr.Ahmed Ziyad and senior figures in these islands.
