MDA will support President Yameen in 2018 presidential elections

MDA have said that they support President Yaameen Faction of PPM and will support President Yameen till 2018 presidential elections as well.
Speaking to the press the deputy leader of MDA, Ali Mauroof said that they have received letters from both President Maumoon and President Yameen inviting MDA to join forces in the upcoming local council elections. He said that after discussing in the party council, they have decided to go forward with President Yameen.
Ali Mauroof said that in 2013, they agreed to be with President Yameen till 2018 and hence they will abide by the agreement.
He further said that they have nominated 3 representatives for the all-party talks as well. In addition, he said that they have formed a 5 member committee to carry out activities related to local council elections.
Ali Mauroof said that MDA always works in the best interest of the country. He said that all decisions of the party give priority to development of this nation.
He further said that the responsibility of the local councils is to work with the government to implement developmental projects, and not to challenge the government. He said that the elected councils should work with the government.
