U.S Embassy in Colombo announces small grants program for Sri Lanka and Maldives

The Public Affairs Section of U.S Embassy in Colombo has announced small grants program for Maldives and Sri Lanka. According to a statement released by the Embassy, the Embassy will grant program for award ranging from $5000 up to $50,000. The deadline to submit proposals for the program is 14th April 2017.

These grants are intended for civil society organizations such as NGOs, cultural institutions, universities, schools, and individuals.

The funding is targeted for programs conducted to promote tolerance, combating hate, and building community cohesion, engaging at risk youths, promoting digital literacy, and engaging communities on respect for diversity.

In addition, programs that improves respect for human rights, strengthen democratic values, enhance awareness, and protection of religious freedom and human rights principles and encourage gender equality are all programs that will be considered for funding.
