President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy, to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Her Excellency Theresa May, following yesterday’s attack in Westminster.

The President’s message reads as follows:

“It is with deep shock and sorrow that I learned of the tragic attack in Westminster yesterday.”

“The Maldives strongly condemns such cowardly acts of violence and terror perpetuated against innocent people. We are fully committed to the fight against terrorism and we will continue to work closely with the Government of the United Kingdom and the wider international community in eliminating this global menace.”

“Please convey my deepest condolences and sympathy to all the victims and their bereaved families.”
