Shihaam Muhammad, (Shihaambe) have said that they started signing a petition asking to free Qasim, because they want to let as many people as possible hear the call of the people asking to free Qasim.

Speaking to Miadhu News, Shiham said that they started signing the petition from Maamigili, because Qasim is from that island.

“Qasim Ibrahim is Maamigili Buruma Qasim. That is why his business trademark is QIM. But he is not only a son of this island. There is no island in Maldives that he has not aided. Hence Qasim is the son of all islands of Maldives. He is the second father of the society. Every family is connected to him” said Shihaam.

Shihaam said that they will conduct signing activities in all the islands of Maldives and he expects to get signatures from 150,000 people. He said that even though the primary targeted of the petition is the parliament, it will be submitted to all the state institutions.

Shihaam asked all those who wish well for Qasim to sign the petition.
