Indian delegates were pleased with the Happy Ramadan Expo. Around representatives from 50 Indian companies took part in the expo.

While the expo ended last night, representatives from 3 stalls said that they were happy with the support. Representatives from 5 stalls said that they see potential to proceed.

However, many people from many stalls mentioned that the number of people who visited the stalls were less than they expected. MHA a Maldivian company which took part in the fair also stated that they noticed that the number of people who visited were less.

One reason for the low turnout might be the lack of advertisement and media coverage. Media was not invited to important parts of the fair like the Indian Ambassador’s meeting with the participants and the opening ceremony of the stalls.

There were only two photographers and two TV cameras. One photographer works for the Indian Embassy. People who visited the fair also complained about it since they could not find much products related to Ramadan even though it was marketed as a Ramadan expo.

“STO Ramadan Bazar is much better than this whole fair and more products at cheaper prices are available in that bazar” said some people who visited the fair.
